China Town Engagement

Couples

Monica & Jae took my advice on making their engagement session unique & personal to them and ran with it! After discussing what would make their photoshoot meaningful to them, we decided on a Millennium Gate Museum & China town engagement session in Atlanta, Ga. We incorporated their love for classic architecture, Atlanta, & their asian culture. We started their session at the museum for a city setting & historic architecture. Although I typically recommend sunset photoshoots, we decided to meet at 10am to avoid ATL traffic (anything to avoid Atlanta rush hour am I right?)

It’s important to consider the time of day you take photos because the lighting will inevitably impact the overall mood of your session. A morning engagement session in Atlanta is never a bad idea because of the abundance of tall trees and buildings that will help diffuse the light. We ended up with a beautiful mix of harsh and soft light to play with during the beginning of their session which created even more variety in their gallery.

Finishing up their photoshoot in China town made for a delicious last stop for lunch & some precious photos of their unique love. Monica shared stories about how she used to visit the food court growing up & I could tell this location was very sentimental to her. I’m so glad we decided to document their love in places that had a sense of familiarity to them.

When deciding on a location for your engagement session, I highly recommend choosing a location you feel connected to versus just choosing a place for pretty pictures. Similar to this China town engagement, when you add a story telling element to your photoshoot you’ll end up with even more meaningful & authentic imagery of your one of a kind love story.
